D’Orsay Resteraunt-Pub

August 30, 2011 by Kevin Bryant

D’Orsay Resteraunt Old Quebec city

We shared a less than average steak  and a not-so-fresh caesar salad in this run down British pub. Disappointing. I guess the location in Old Quebec city keeps them open. This was probably our only disappointing meal in Quebec.

Stash Cafe, old montreal

August 30, 2011 by Kevin Bryant

stash cafe: I was pleasantly surprise that Ann cooperated in a Polish adventure. Even though she’s a Barinowski, she doesn’t like to go exploring with unusual foods. We tried the Pierogi: Dumplings stuffed with a choice of meat, chesse or cabbage and served with sour cream. We recommend a mixture of choices. It had a relish that reminded me of a sweet mild chow chow from back home. The cabbage was a little krauty, but good.

the Keg, Montreal

August 30, 2011 by Kevin Bryant

The Keg Ann started with a oven baked lobster with garlic, herbs, and melted Monterey jack and cheddar cheeses. I had a good spinach salad with roasted walnuts, craisens, and a very light vinaigrette dressing. We then shared an Awesome medium rare filet mignonne with the Keg’s special steak sauce. The sauce was kind of tangy with a tiny kick to it. Service was exceptional.

We finished by splitting a home made key lime pie with a drizzle of raspberry coulis.

Only problem was as Montreal was on the fringe of hurricane Irene, I didn’t notice the no parking sign after dropping off Ann around the curb. $52 bucks for a parking ticket, ouch!

Quebec City Hobbit Bistro

August 25, 2011 by Kevin Bryant

Our first meal in Quebec City was great. We had a pasta duck confit, manicotti-like pasta filled with cheese and duck. It was very fresh pasta (made on site I bet). We also had fresh french bread and butter, strong coffee, and salad. The salad was a perfect mixture of greens with a very light vinaigrette dressing and pine nuts. We sat beside a window open to the sidewalk with perfect weather. I’m gonna like saying Bon appetit! the hobbit bistro
