Herman Cain is hoping his rising poll numbers can help pump up his bank account.
“Recent polling has shown our campaign is gaining strength across the country! This news could not have been accomplished without your support, loyalty and generosity,” Cain wrote in an email to supporters on Wednesday night.
In the message, the Atlanta businessman references a survey by Democratic-allied Public Policy Polling in which he tied for second place among Iowa voters, as well as Gallup positive intensity polling that has shown Cain leading in enthusiasm among his rivals.
Cain, who formalized his bid for the GOP nomination several weeks ago with an Atlanta rally, solicited donations of $52, $37, or $15 from supporters.
