{"id":512,"date":"2008-06-05T15:33:14","date_gmt":"2008-06-05T20:33:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kevinbryant.com\/2008\/06\/05\/512\/"},"modified":"2008-06-05T15:33:14","modified_gmt":"2008-06-05T20:33:14","slug":"512","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kevinbryant.com\/kbarchive\/512\/","title":{"rendered":"dual water rates, annexation amendments ruled out of order"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">I offered 2 amendments relating to publicly owned utilities and the customers they serve outside of the municipal boundaries.<br \/>\n1-The Public Service Commission (PSC) may have jurisdiction over utility rates if the customer is outside the political boundary and if the customer is being charged a different rate than that of customers within the boundary.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">2-Publicly owned utilities will not be allowed to force customers to sign an annexation agreement before having services connection.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">Since it has been impossible to get the bills I\u2019ve introduced moving, I am forced to seek vehicles that I can amend. It is a stretch that H. 4745 was related. The amendments were to be ruled \u201cnon-germane\u201d according to rule 24-A, therefore I was forced to withdraw the amendments. Perhaps we can see justice for these constituents being taken advantage of in the future.<\/p>\n<p><\/font><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman'\"><br \/>\nI\u2019ve been determined to follow through on this inequality since I learned of these practices several years ago.
