The manufacturer was accused of mis leading the public on possible side affects of the then patented mental health medication Risperdal. Here&#8217;s the article\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.goupstate.com\/article\/20110309\/articles\/103091018?tc=ar\" target=\"_blank\">Spartanburg Herald<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Also, our friend over at <a href=\"http:\/\/schotline.us\/category\/doris-holt\/\" target=\"_blank\">schotline.com<\/a>, Jeffrey Sewell, has been involved these issues.<\/p>\n<p>One thing to consider. A drug company markets their product hoping to convince physicians to prescribe their product to increase their profits. There will always be all kinds of\u00a0accusations\u00a0in this process. I&#8217;m even suspicious of competitors&#8217; involvement somehow.<\/p>\n<p>After a manufacturer looses the patent, the marketing comes to a\u00a0complete halt since an unlimited number of generic companies can make\u00a0the drug. So now, we have total unbiased science and experience dictating\u00a0the use of a drug.\u00a0Here&#8217;s another reason (along with the obvious financial\u00a0savings) why it is a good idea to use the old &#8220;tried and true&#8221; generic\u00a0drugs first.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, drug manufacturer Janssen was involved in a lawsuit.
