Below are highlights:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span><\/span><span><strong>Harbor Deepening = $2.4 million Requested This Session for State Match<\/strong><\/span><span><\/span><span><\/span><span>-Corps Preparing to Close Out Project<\/span><span>-$7.03 million in Carry Forward Funds<\/span><span>-Approximately $7.9 million in Additional State Funding Needed Beyond Carry Forward Funds<\/span><span><strong>Request for Proviso Change &#8211; Update Year in Ravenel Bridge Proviso<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>-To-date, SCSPA Has Paid $25 million of $45 million Commitment<\/p>\n<p>-Twenty (20) $1 million Payments Remaining (FY08-27)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charleston Port Development Update<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>-Status &#8211; Permits in Hand; 171-Acre Phase I is Underway; Demolition and Detention Pond Work Already Started<\/p>\n<p>-Terminal Will Be Internally Financed Without Any Taxpayer Dollars or Taxpayer-Backed Debt<\/p>\n<p>-Port Access Road &#8211; Permitted; State\/Federal Funding Totals $182.5 million<\/p>\n<p>-$167.5 million in Contingency Reserve Funds Appropriated Last Year to SCSPA &#8211; Held by Treasurer<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jasper Project &#8211; Intergovernmental Agreement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>-Joint Project Office (JPO) Formed; Consists of a Six-member Board plus Four Ex-Officio<\/p>\n<p>-Effectively Ends Condemnation; Land To Be Jointly Owned; Initiates Easement Work Along with Environmental and Market Analysis<\/p>\n<p>-Eventually Result in Bi-state Compact; Will Require Approval of Legislatures\/Congress<\/p>\n<p><strong>Port Royal Sale<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>-Properties Back on the Market Following Termination of Pending Contract<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.naiavantportroyal.com\">NAI Avant will Continue to Market the Property<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" align=\"absMiddle\" width=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.cargobusinessnews.com\/images\/PortCharleston2.jpg?resize=250%2C169\" height=\"169\" \/><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the Transportation &amp; Finance Committees met with members of the SC Ports Authority on Wednesday, March 26th.
