\n<\/b>AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 509 OF 1982, AS AMENDED, TO ADD A NEW SECTION REQUIRING TWO-THIRDS APPROVAL OF THE ANDERSON COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION PRIOR TO A SCHOOL OR SCHOOLS BEING CLOSED, MERGED, EXPANDED, CONSOLIDATED, OR ELIMINATED.
\nBe it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina: SECTION\u00a0 \u00a0 1.\u00a0 \u00a0 Act 509 of 1982, as amended, is further amended by adding: “Section\u00a0 \u00a0 (\u00a0 \u00a0 ).\u00a0 \u00a0 Before closing, merging, expanding, consolidating, or\u00a0eliminating any school or schools in Anderson County, the Anderson County Board of Education shall be required\u00a0to approve the proposed action by a two-thirds vote.”
\nSECTION\u00a0 \u00a0 2.\u00a0 \u00a0 This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
