Fellow Business Owners,<\/span><\/p>\n

I have been busy growing our membership and tracking legislation over the last couple of weeks.\u00a0 I wanted to take some time out on this very wet day and give you a legislative update on some of the bills that we are working to promote or trying very hard to block!<\/p>\n

S407:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>The South Carolina Business Owners Association has been working with Senator Kevin Bryant on this bill which will\u00a0ensure that business owners that are LLCs,\u00a0B Corps, and\u00a0all other types of business entities\u00a0with the exception of\u00a0Sole Proprietors, will no longer have to pay\u00a0 SC Unemployment\u00a0Tax on themselves.\u00a0 This bill\u00a0will further the efforts of last year’s\u00a0S1100 and will be\u00a0retroactive to\u00a0January 1, 2015.\u00a0 The bill\u00a0received a\u00a041-1 vote on the\u00a0its\u00a0third reading on the Senate floor this morning.\u00a0 It\u00a0now moves to the\u00a0House Ways and Means Committee.<\/p>\n
