Last Thursday, I was able to attend the annual reception and meeting of the members of the Lake Hartwell Association. The LHA is comprised of residents of South Carolina and Georgia interested in proper stewardship of Lake Hartwell.
Obviously, lake levels are the primary concern of the LHA. I gave them a summary of the pending bill in the Senate Agriculture Committee addressing water withdrawal permitting.
Along with representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers were several other elected officials. Susan Aiken (Sen. Jim DeMint), Janice McCord (Rep. Gresham Barrett), Rep. Jeff Duncan (snapped the ph0to), Rep. Rex Rice, Rep. Don Bowen, & Sheriff John Skipper were present to chat with constituents.
