Spending.gov: $296 million to 1 of 9 refugee resettlers

February 9, 2016 by Kevin Bryant

A Berlin police handout photo made available on February 5, 2016, shows a 34-year-old male suspect from Algeria, who was arrested during Thursday's raid in North Rhine-Westphalia, posing in a personal photo in a combat zone in Syria. German forces arrested two men on Thursday suspected of links to Islamic State militants preparing an attack in the German capital, police and prosecutors said, amid fears of another deadly attack on European soil. Police and special forces raided four flats and two offices in Berlin and properties in the northern regions of North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony. …I then decided to just pick one of the nine federal refugee resettlement contractors (which have in the vicinity of 350 sub-grantees or sub-contractors), to see what the biggies were getting.  Here (below) isLutheran Immigration and Refugee Service which resettles refugees in your towns and cities and also agitates for amnesty for illegal aliens.

LIRS is lobbying (with your money!) as we speak for 100,000 Syrians to be admitted to the US before Obama leaves office.

Prepare to be shocked!  Since August 2008, this one ‘religious’ non-profit received $296 MILLION dollars from you in 143 transactions with federal agencies. (And, I will bet you LIRS is not the wealthiest!)

Click here and see for yourself!

They will all say they help the poor with your money, but I repeat, they are also lobbying for more (poor) migrants to be admitted to the US!  Our founding fathers must be rolling in their graves to see the federal treasury used in this way.

Then you must get the information you learn out to others beyond your circle. Maybe take your facts and write a letter to the editor. Ask to write an Op-ed for your local paper. Go on talk radio. Write a blog!  Send what you learn to your elected officials and ask why on earth they are giving your money to Open Borders Leftwing organizations masquerading as religious charities.

Come to think of it, where is the ACLU on the separation of church and state?

s.923 Hyco’s Law

February 8, 2016 by Kevin Bryant

hyco

I filed a bill called “Hyco’s Law. Hyco was a police dog for the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department that was killed in the line of duty on October 21, 2015. Currently, the SC statute has a maximum penalty of 5 years and a fine up to $3,000 for killing a police dog. I’m told that we spend at least $25,000 on police dogs so the punishment appears to be low. In Georgia, the maximum is 20 years. Here’s where we started:

* Increase the prison sentence to 2-10 years
* Increase the maximum fine to $30,000
* Change “and” to “and/or” – either prison and/or fine
* Add mandatory restitution to cover the full cost of restoring or replacing the dog that was injured or killed, including all purchase, veterinary, and training expenses incurred as a result of the incident.
* Add optional animal-related community service for 1 year in addition to the other penalties (animal shelter, humane society, spay/neuter clinic, veterinary clinic, adoption service)
* Read “Hyco’s Law.”

Birthday Party 02.20.2016 thanks Mom!

February 5, 2016 by Kevin Bryant

Dear Friends,gloria.bryant.aunnie
Greetings to all of you dear friends who have supported our son, Kevin, in our campaign for the SC Senate. We brought him up to be fiscally responsible and to stand strong for principle. He has a crystal clear conservative record and we hope you’ll agree, we need him in Columbia now more than ever.
With the Presidential Preference Primary coming up on February 20th, Cliff and I thought we would put together a great time of fellowship for us all to socialize and watch the returns. I’m sure you’d be surprised that my baby is turning 49!
Even better, let’s combine that with a treat for Kevin (it is his birthday weekend)!
A FUNdraiser of a Birthday Party.
We will treat you to cake and delightful hors-d’oeuvres, you may choose to treat Kevin with the donation of any amount, if you would like! If a contribution is inconvenient at this time, we certainly understand and would love to see you there!
Do be sure to come and celebrate this momentous event in our nation’s history, and in Kevin’s!
We will be watching the returns and celebrating at:
Cobbs Glen Clubhouse
6:00-8:30
2201 Cobbs Way
Anderson, SC 29621
We hope to see you there! Please rsvp info@kevinbryant.com or call us at : (803) 767-6301
With kindest regards,
Gloria Bryant

Duncan/Mulvaney: refugee program a high risk

January 29, 2016 by Kevin Bryant

duncan.mulvaneyS. 997 received a favorable report today in the committee I chair, the South Carolina Senate General Committee. The vote was 9-3 with a “minority report”. A minority report placed the bill on the Senate contested calendar. This means that it will not be up for debate unless the Senate places it on “special order”. With all the important problems we have in South Carolina, the refugee is a crisis.

S. 997 was amended to do 3 things:

1-Require the South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS) to coordinate with the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED), passing along refugee enrollees information. Currently, the Federal Government is not releasing any information to SLED.

2-Give service organizations that sponsor refugees civil liabilities. These organizations currently have the ability to deny refugees and/or further screen them. The committee saw it fit to hold these organizations responsible for any crime or act of terror of an individual they sponsor.

3-Prohibit any South Carolina funds from being spent to assist the Federal Refugee program except for information gathering.

Congressmen Jeff Duncan and Mick Mulvaney were present on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 to testify and warn the Senate of the dangers that exist. There is no screening process in place that can prevent terrorist sympathizers from “slipping through the cracks” in this program. ISIS and other jihadists have declared they will infiltrate these refugee programs.

Click here if you’d like to watch the hearing. click on “Wednesday, January 27, 2016  9:00 am
Senate General Committee — General Committee” on your left.

Stay tuned…

Duncan on refugees

January 29, 2016 by Kevin Bryant

2015.09.22.duncanFriends,
I wanted to take a moment to update you on work I’ve been doing related to the refugee resettlement issue. Last week, the Senate took up the House passed legislation that would effectively pause the refugee resettlement program. My opinion has been that this legislation (the SAFE Act) is a good first step, but not the final solution. Unfortunately, Senate Democrats successfully filibustered this compromise bill that managed to get a veto-proof bipartisan majority in the House. This just how disconnected from reality some Washington politicians can be.
Fortunately, there are many who understand the issue. In case you missed it, I’m attaching a copy of a joint op-ed that I wrote with Senator Ted Cruz that ran in Sunday’s Greenville News about the refugee resettlement issue. Please read it and send me your feedback.
I also wanted to make sure you knew that I had the chance to travel to Columbia on Wednesday to testify before the South Carolina Senate on the refugee resettlement issue along with my friend and colleague Congressman Mick Mulvaney. It was a historic hearing focused on what SC can do to address the refugee concern, and I am appreciative of State Senator Kevin Bryant both for the invitation and making this issue such a priority. I will pass along video of that hearing when it becomes available.
