effort to defund Planned Parenthood failed
Thursday 2012.06.28 Sen. Lee Bright (R-Spartanburg) offered an amendment to the Continuing Resolution, H. 5418, to not allow any taxpayer funds to pay for any services provided by the nations largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood.
Whether its an abortion or a vitamin C tablet, I can’t in good conscience vote to send a single cent to this organization.

You madam, apparently cannot read which (ironically enough) makes you also ill informed, at best.
The statement says, “any services provided by the nations largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood”.
Please do more intensive, thoughtful reading before making (insert adjectives of your choice) statements.

You, sir, are ill informed, at best. It is illegal for ANY federal or state money to go toward abortion, even in publicly funded health centers that provide safe abortions for women. Planned Parenthood’s chief role is providing women with lower income, many of whom can not afford health insurance, with safe, affordable and NECESSARY health exams that prevent cancer and other more costly illness. Defunding an institution for providing a safe, legal service, which only amounts to 3% of the services they offer(to which the patients pay for, NOT any federal or state money), is akin to cutting off one’s whole limb because of a paper cut. Where do you propose lower income women go for affordable health screening? If lower income women don’t have access to affordable health care, the chances of them developing serious, extremely costly and deadly illness are much, much higher. This lead to illness not being detected until it is much more expensive to treat, a cost which spreads to all of us.
Please, do more intensive, thoughtful research before making grandiose, badly informed statements.
