Buck’s saving big bucks!
If you are not sitting down, please do so before continuing to read this post. You may become faint. Secretary H. B. “Buck” Limehouse gave an impressive presentation Wednesday morning in a Finance sub-committee meeting. Mr. Limehouse is the new secretary of the reformed South Carolina Department of Transportation. He showed us how the SCDOT saved the taxpayer $27,582,820. You did not misread that statement. A government bureau reported to us this morning that it is actually working diligently to save you money! Much of the savings were because of Buck’s no-nonsense business approach to the multi-billion dollar agency. They’ve decreased travel, eliminated lobbyists, and improved the contract bidding process.
